The event is scheduled for August 2nd-4th. The Captain’s Meeting will be held on the evening of the 2nd on the Observation Deck, and fishing will take place August 3rd-4th. Last year 29 tarpon were hooked including 13 official catch and release. We fished based on the tides and will be doing so again this year. This is a boat tournament, so get a couple of buddies together and come fish the 3rd Annual St. Simons Island Tarpon Tournament hosted by Morningstar Marinas | Golden Isles and the Golden Isles Charter Fishing Association. The Golden Isles Kingfish Classic will take place August 23-25, 2012. The Captain’s Meeting will take place on Thursday with fishing on Friday and Saturday. Registration forms are available in the Marina Dock Office, as well as the Marina Business Office - Unit 206. For those of you fishing the tournament, we wish you the greatest success!
